Website not ‘tacky and destructive’ – DivorceMe founder

ONE News February 14, 2011
The co-founders of DivorceMe have responded to claims from Family First who labelled their website as “tacky and destructive”. Aaron Pero and Andrew Bell said that “in a perfect world there would be a happily ever after story for all couples”. “But we don’t live in a perfect world and it’s a fact of life that one in three marriages end in divorce,” Pero said. Family First’s Bob McCoskrie said websites like this “simply cheapen and weaken the seriousness and important of marriage”. “It may save a few dollars for the adults concerned, but it can leave lifelong scars and can also be devastating for the children. “Divorce has a huge negative impact on the health and wellbeing of both the adults and children,” he said.
