Beaten for wrong ‘colours’

Whangarei Leader 12 SEP 06
Primary school children are getting beaten up for wearing the wrong ‘colours’ in Whangarei, as a gang culture increases, according to police.
Serious violence has increased in Whangarei, Inspector Paul Dimery, area commander for Whangarei/Kaipara, told the Whangarei District Council during its full meeting last week. He blames the drug methamphetamine and dealers who “prey on our kids”.
