Most concern will come from the increasing prevalence of crimes that directly impact families and their safety, says Bob McCoskrie, National Director of Family First NZ. The latest figures show murders increasing by almost a 1/3'rd, a 10.2 per cent increase in violent offences, 47% increase in sexual offences in the Counties-Manukau area, crimes involving methamphetamine-type drugs recording an increase of 50 per cent bringing with it the anti-social crime and drug-crazed crimes, a 15.3 per cent increase in property damage due to the activities of youth gangs and graffiti tagging, and an increase of 17.4 per cent in domestic violence offences

We now have a generation of children who have been victims of a social experiment of how best to raise our kids, and believing that family structure doesnt matter. And it continues with the ideological drive to ban smacking, and some schools opening later in the day once kids have woken up. Overall figures for primary, intermediate and secondary schools show that since 2000 there has been a 30 percent increase in assaults on staff, a 23 percent rise in sexual misconduct, a 39 percent rise in vandalism and a 43 percent increase in possession of weapons. We cannot continue to feed our society a diet of violent and sexually laden movies, tv programmes and music, and life-like video games without that behaviour being acted out by impressionable young people.
